street vs track confusing
hey ok here is my problem i have a 99si w/ a aem cold air intake, dc sprorts header,test pipe, and apex n1 muffler., also have ctr cams dual valve springs and retaniers,450cc injectors and a 110 shot. also a short shifter that is modified,lightened fly wheel and act stage 2 clutch. On the street this thing halls *** im talking zo6s supras what ever doesnt matter i can beat them, but then i went to the track and i run a 13.1. I dont get it i think it should be at least a 12.7. and this is 13 in nitto 555r drag radials on it im hooking up and im not bogging.I mean my 60 foots are 2.0 all day and i am a good driver but for some reason my car hates the track. ANd this is a true story i raced a a z 28 at the track he beat me by 1 1/2 car links well it just so happend on the way home we ran into each other agian and i stomped his *** by 4 links now explain this to me please.
Going from a roll and going from a dead stop is 2 different worlds. Alot more to take into account when racing from a stop. Anyone can drive from a roll, but it takes skill to drive from a stop.
<------- (Who races from a roll
)
Also some cars just do not do well at the track, I have seen cars MOVE on the street and run shitty times at the track. You also have to think about it like this, you may pull a 2.0 60 ft. and the Camaro you are racing pulls a 1.7, thats a big difference. Not saying you can't drive, just throwing out some personal experience
