Default Mid-Ohio final body count?

It almost felt like we lost a full third of the HC field over the course of the weekend. I'm pretty sure most of the H4 cars didn't make it. I'd be interested in seeing the finally talley of cars that didn't make it through Sunday's race because of mechanical problems or racing incidents.

I missed the parking lot incident at madness because I was busy painting my team colors on the wall at T1. Am I the only one that found the oil slick? This was my first NASA event, and I appreciate everyone making me feel welcome. But, I have to ask are all NASA / HC events this scrappy?

Batoutahell-

this was the most carnage and motor issue filled race I have ever witnessed in nasa. I found the racing to be a bit more agressive than usual.

funny comment- painting my team colors on T1 wall. good stuff.

On another thread I suggested that the Clorox ferry paid a visit to our gas tanks, very odd that several H4 cars had motor issues and sam myers in H5 blew a motor on a warm up lap with out high revs....

I know the H4 field on saturday started with 11 and ended with half that. I blew a head gasket, gene hancocks civic broke a piston ring (did not start the race), matt filkins was the only H4 crx in my camp to finish the race. Ben Bricker from Arknasas lost a head gasket in sunday qualifying, one more H4 car broken, Jim from Kansas City (is this you?) spun in Colin Botha's antifreeze in turn one and tore up his front right corner suspension.

Marhefka is the only one to not of had a single problem with his car, he won both days rather easily and uncontested in his H4 crx.

Hell If I could of, I would have entered my street crx, it would have been more reliable.

Chris,

I appreciate all the time you spent on us out-of-towners fixing stuff and showing us the ropes, even though you should have been relaxing on your b-day. It was great meeting you and your family, and that's what this weekend was all about, for me anyway.

My damage could have been much worse, see pic below. I'm pretty sure I have a spare hub laying around somewhere. That and some body work will get me back on the track in time for Heartland Park, Topeka in 2 weeks.

You couldn't have raced your street crx. Colin scavenged parts from it, remember?

- Jim
