Default synthetic oil?

Are you guyz using synthetic oil or dino oil in you K20 engines? I'm thinking about switching to syn oil after I break in my EP3 hatch. I would like to find out how the K20 engine would take it. Does the sound of the engine or valves differ a bit?

from what i've read, its usually a good idea to break the motor in for a while with traditional oil before switching to synthetic. most people seem to say making the switch at about 10k is pretty good. then again this is all just what i read on forums and such. also it shouldnt make your engine sound any different. it should just make it run a little smoother and rev easier.

Just keep the break in oil for about 5k, then after that switch to synthetic.

My GF has used reg. castrol 5w-20 oil in her car(k20a3) ever since she purchased it brand new. With over 50k on it it doesn't burn a single drop of oil and she has had her fair share of reving. I think if you do your regular maint. to it you shouldn't have any problems. We will probably be switching over to synthetic pretty soon since the engine has been broken in pretty well and we look forward to turbocharging it.
