did a search and came up with one post that sounded alsmost like mine.. but yea. just started this morning, when i give it some gas you can feel teh car jerking forward and stuff, then once i get into higher rpms it gets better, plus its backfiring quite a bit too. also losing alot of power throughout the power band, idles a bit too low, like 500 , and keeps fluctuating. is it damaging to the car to drive like this?

im gueseing its either spakrkplug, ign wires, or possibly distributor, ? thanks guys. very annoying poroblemo. also it rained the night before if it makes a dif.

 

Sounds like a good place to start, and water and electrical parts don't mix so that could be a possible cause.

 

Water in your distributer cap? Take off the cap and clean all the points and the tip of the rotor with sand paper (just a little bit of rubbing.... don't want to take too much off).

Make sure it is dry and put it back on. Make sure there is no water in your igniton connections.
