Hey guys, on LS's and GSR's, does the sunroof glass already come tinted? i actually wanted to take off the tint, is that somethin i can do myself like with a tint remover kit from autozone or something, or is the tint on these sunroofs permanent?

 

im not sure if its tint or if its smoked glass.

As far as I know, pretty much any tint that comes from the factory is in the glass and not a film.

 

yup, its in the glass......i know cuz ive broken one before, got another one and it was exactly the same.....why would you want to take it off? the view looking down on the sunroof isnt that great....the tint helps hide the ugly backside of the shad and the tracks and everything, that and it probably keeps the heat down.

 

I wish the tint was even darker. It wouldn't burn my head when its sunny here.

 

you can't take off the tint, it is jdm black glass.

Called Privacy Glass in the US like the rear glass that comes on Odysseys and stuff.

Hence, the term Moonroof, Sunroof, is for those un-tinted.

It is impossible for you to take off the tint unless you find a replacement which is clear, which I don't see the point in doing so anyway.
