Dyno #'s from last night!!
At the local shop last night there was a cruise in and dyno so I put my gsr on the roller and I cant decide if I should be happy with the #'s or not. The shop has been open for a couple of weeks (total performance) out of Evansville IN. Wish I had a didgy so I can put the dyno sheets UP but I unfortunatly dont. Well heres the mods and numbers
mods:
skunk manifold, skunk exhaust , and 0bd1 p28 w/ vtec at 5200
CTR cams, ITR CAI
#'s:
peak hp at 141.7
peak TQ at 117
are these right #'s? for setup

Yea. I had a stock gsr in my hatch. Basic bolt ons, JDM GSR ECU(4500), put down 147, 126. I dont know what the hell is up with your setup, but I would be dissapointed.
i think the hp is a little low. how did you pick the vtec crossover at 5200? i would use a stock ecu with a vafc to tune that. did you do any tuning while you were at the dyno?

if i remember correctly, the lower the vtec engagement, the lower the peak HP's are...but someone correct me if im wrong... i tested this method with my VAFC at the track and my e.t dropped .10-.20
Youre wrong. The peak hp numbers will be the same no matter where you put the x-over, just the transition will be "felt" differently. You will be slower if you put the x over in a place where you feel vtec "kick"

if the transition of vtec is felt, then it is not in tuned...and vice versa. i remember reading about the peak hp theory here on H-T, thats why i tested it out at the track...i dont have any dyno #'s to back it up but im sure there's plenty here on H-T

If its a Mustang dyno, those numbers look accurate

have you ever been in another car with VTEC?

Its a 2 week old dynojet. I dont see why the numbers would be inaccurate. the motor has 95k and 195 compression across with a cheapo compression gauge. What I'm thinking is tuning with a vafc hack and header and test pipe. If that doesnt work I'm gonna have to go with boost again, or just give up on it cause my number definatly shouldnt be anywhere near this. I see people layin down at least 25 hp more untuned with about same mods. A valve adjustment might be a little helpful also.
no, It was about 80 with maybe slight humidity, still had the fan on the motor. My motor is just sad... A brand new EP was putting down 165 I/h/e. I miss the turbo LS
those numbers seem low, but i'll be the first one to say for you to do a leakdown/compression test to make sure everything's fine. also do a tune up, like plugs/rotor+cap/all fuilds/wires/fuel filter/etc, and see if it feels better.
maybe you just had a bad low # session. not a big deal.
tune up first, though, then try to hit it again. if it's still "low," i'd wonder if you're not tuned correctly.

Did you not have a stock p72 to try out? As for a "p28 from a 1.6," I believe that's what p28's are, ECU's from 1.6's.
Did you do any tuning at all? I'm guessing it's begging to be tuned. How does the powerband itself look? Like someone mentioned, under different condition's you'd be pulling different numbers, so what you should be concerned about is a nice powerband and a good A/F ratio. Don't feel bad, I have a similar setup and my car runs like crap. For the record, the numbers do seem low, but get some tuning done and see if it helps things out.
