Throttle Body Removal To Adjust Tps. Anything I Should Know? Avoid?
EDIT: When I remove the t/b, is there going to be a throttle cable or anything that Im going to have to detach? Or just 4 bolts and the few hoses?

First, what year and type engine are we talking about here??
Second, the correct way to adjust the tps is with the throttle plate stop screw.
You turn the screw till the tps voltage reads approximately .5V.

Yeah I know how to actually adjust it but couldnt get access to loosening the bottom tps screw so I thought if the t/b was removed it would be no problem to adjust it and reinstall
For a zc motor, non vtec

There's nothing special to look out for, you might need a new gasket and something to scrape the old one off.

**** that website says if its still riveted that that wont be the problem. Even thought when I measured it with a voltmeter the idle number was high?
Theres also a small crack on the top part of the tps , what should I do????

I'm having the same problem. My voltage isn't reading right either. When i punch the throttle it hesitates to repond, basically bogs for a sec. But if i crank the car up, and then unplug the tps for a sec then plug it back in, i can punch the gas and no hesistation or bogging. But this remidy only works for as long as keep the car running. If i shut the car off i have to repeat the unplug and plug process over again. I'm using a 95 GSR TB which still has the tps rivited to the TB. I'm gonna try to replace it, or is there something I can do to adjust it. Before I try replacing it. Also if i'm going to replace it whats the best way to remove the tps w/ rivites attaching it? Sorry not trying to jack the thread, just happens to be a problem of mine as well.

ya know what's weird, is that i can unplug mine and it runs perfect still, vtec engages and everything. We completely removed it from my brothers H22 90 hatch, and my friends H22 crx, and the cars run strong still.
just the throttle cable and the few bolts and hoses.
if your tps needs to be adjusted and you still have the rivits just use a thin file or a cutting wheel to make a slit deep enough for a flat head screw driver to loosen the rivits. then once its adjusted you use regular screws to put it back in....

Oh dam you do have to remove the throttle cable eh, **** I dont want to touch that myself
I found that I can grab the tps rivets with vice grips last night, bottom was to hard to access thats why I thought the t/b had to be removed.
Dont know if Traction can remove the cable or not, but is there any other way?

why can't someone remove the throttle cable....? move the throttle to WOT and slide the cable out...
anyways i had to adjust my TPS last year or so and we got the bottom bolt with vice grips too...i think. then we used my above advice.
