Default NA Buildup Help

Sorry, I know stuff like this has been covered a hundred times, but I cant find anything specific for what I need. Here goes:

I have a 99 Civic Si. I just bought a GSR block w/ Type-R pistons. There was a spun rod bearing in cyl. #3. So what I want to do is build it back with an LS crank setup that will rev to high 8,000 RPM.

Should I stick with the OEM LS crank, OEM LS rods, and ITR pistons? If I do this, I plan on getting them cryo-treated and balanced.

Or should I dish out the money to get:
Eagle crank
Eagle rods
JE pistons

I think the bore on it is 81.25, and I dont want to bore it anymore, so I want to stick with 81.25mm pistons. I want reliability and I know you have to pay for it. This will be a pure NA buildup, never boosted. It will also be my daily driver. I will follow the block buildup with a head buildup.

Once again, I ran a search, but couldnt find specific results, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Dont' dish out all the money for an eagle crank. Why the hell is there an LS crank and LS rods in the gsr block?

nice job on bumping up your post count.

if you want a reliable DD i would stick with the honda oem stuff. what you have there sounds great

play around with this http://www.c-speedracing.com/h...c.php and see what you like. but i would stick with the oem for sure! in fact i am myself!

Blueprint/Balance/Micropolish that LS crank.. and stud those rods with ARP studs. My LSVTEC revs to 8k no problem.

Thanks for the input. I was planning on using the OEM parts anyways, since I already have them. Only thing is that I may be able to get a good deal on the aftermarket stuff, and if I can, then thats the route I will go, otherwise I'll stick with OEM.

Correct me if Im wrong, but wont adding the LS crank to this block put my motor at 1.95L?

And what kind of gains should I expect from this set up with a stock head and mile bolt-ons?

Thanks again!!

i believe it is about 30cc more, i would say it is not 1.95L.

even if you can get the aftermarket stuff for cheap, i would still go honda oem
