Replaced Ignition Need Advice
My 1992 Honda Accord EX A/T was recently broken in to and the steering column was trashed. The shifter will not go in to gear without putting the key into the shifter release. I replaced the steering column, ignition and wiring. Now, the service engine light is on and the shifter still needs the key to take it out of park. Is the lock shifter related to the busted steering column? And is there any way to turn off the service engine light without using a dealer to fix it? Thanks in advance for any advice...
you can turn of the service light with hand scanner. the scanner will reset the light but after driving a few miles the light will come back on if the problem is still there. I don't believe the shifter has anything to do with the steering column. the shifter might need some work also. ask the honda dealer about that one but i do believe i am correct.
I checked the brake lights and they are not working when the brake is pressed. I check the button on the brake pedal and it is getting released when I press the brake. What should I do next?
The SRS light is on also. Is the brake problem the cause for the SRS Light?
