I would be more worried about thieves than high milage. Just make sure the car was taken care of (ie. service records). A high mileage engine is only as good as the maitenance it recieves. Other than that it will run just as strong as its lower milage counterparts.

It's a honda, as long as it was reasonably maintained, it will be fine. Ask the owners when they last changed t-belt and pumps, ask them if you can do a compression test before you buy. Check for trans grinds and other obvious things.

If the car is in good shape and stock or relatively stock, the mileage shouldn't stop you from buying it.

I drove a Prelude to 200,000 miles. Tranny went bad after that and wasn't worth replacing... I miss that car

Maintenance gets more expensive after 100K but it ought to be reliable.

Definitely get a detailed examination from a trusted mechanic somewhere. Properly maintained like others said, the ITR motor will last just as long as any other honda motor if treated properly. A seller with extensive maintenance records usually yield better cars.

51k very hard miles on mine and it still goes...

**** load of smoke and tranny grinds

I plan on making it to 100 with no motor rebuild, but a tranny rebuild one or twice before then .

Honda Motors that are well taken care of will last untill you don't take care of them.
