coilovers whats a good set .
currently i have a 95 prelude vtec with tokico illuma struts and nuespeed sport springs. since i installed stereo I no longer like how the rear of the car sits. so i assume i cxan install coilovers to adjust the heigt . my question is whats good? should i add coilover kit to my illuma struts or buy a complete set similiar to apexi n1 coilover sset with everything included including springs all assembled. I saw another complete set but the brand was nex which i have never heard of. lets say i buy dropzone or arospeed coilovers shoild i stick with my nuespeed springs or the springs that come with the coilovers. please let me know whats good out there

ground control makes a better product, skank2 is cheaper. you can get custom spring rates on the ground controls so it can be as hard or soft a ride as you want.
you can use your illuminas given that they're in good shape. they're better than the AGX's anyway. If you want to upgrade the shocks because yours are a) blown or b) not adequate for your style of driving, go with the konis. If you don't care and want to save some coin, keep the tokicos.

where are good places to purchase options auto or something like that.
also a litle about spring rates higher is softer or harder ?. do you know if i can find out what my neuspeeds are ? THANKS ALOT GUYS .

higher is harder. Ground control takes orders directly it costs around $335 + shipping for a set. The advantage of this is that you can ask them for whatever rates you want, from 100#/in^2 to 2000, basically any linear spring that Eibach makes.
i'd suggest something like a 220F/200R or 300F/250R or something like that if this is daily driven and you don't care as much about performance. If you're an a/x type, 400/400 is probably as much as the shocks can handle.
full coilover kits are made by any number of companies. the most popular are Tein, JIC, and Tanabe. Personally, i think GC's and a good shock outperform these setups for less money...

A friend is telling me ,y struts will blow . It basically happens to everyone he knows who installs the sleeves . I dont know what brands here im just lokking out for the future . Really the least expensive would be the best option, but im not going to sacrifice for shitty $50.00 coilovers know what i mean . Thanks.

your shocks will blow if you are a) lowered too low, beyond the specs of the shock or b) you use too much spring for the shock to handle.
in general, aftermarket shocks can handle up to 400-600 lbs of spring, and manage about 2" of drop. if you're going to be within these numbers, your shocks will be fine.
also, the same thing would happen with full coilovers if you dropped it too low or changed out the springs to something higher than the shocks could handle.

Ask the guys at Ground Control for their recommendations, tell them you have the Eibachs curently and want something comparable. BUT, you're going to need a rear spring which is stiffer RELATIVE to your previous f/r ratio because of the stereo stuff. It's not just height you need, but a slightly higher spring rate too to handle the extra weight.
IMO you should just save the money and get the tein basic coilovers. Less headache, and a great ride. Full coilovers are better in the long run. Forget about the half and half.

what's better about them?
tein basics are a pile.

if you have money and want something really go0d as a "coil-over" get the Tanabe sustec Pro's the ones that are about $1000-$1100.
if you want to keep the springs you have just get some struts.(kyb-tokico-koni)cheapest to most expensive.
i have ground controls now, and since i dont plan on auto x'ing i think im just going to buy the adjustable Tokico Illuminas. i wanted the koni's but $585 is alot of money for just street racing.

as far as i'm concerned, the only coilovers that outperform GC+Koni are the buddy clubs...and that's a MAYBE. JIC fell face first on the shock dyno when the moment of truth arrived, Tein SS and basic dampers are known to be inferior, and unless you've got motons or penske's or the new koni SPSS3's (i think that's their name) it's really not worth the extra money.
