Default EF/EG Axles......did a search

I did a search but didn't find any answers. Can EG axles fit on an EF with no modification?

I'm not going B series just trying to swap axles on the stock EF tranny.

i think i heard that the eg is a little smaller where it goes into the hub than the ef, so it doesn't work, but don't quote me on it.....

Well I know for sure that it goes in the tranny end but I dont want to drop the existing tranny (Zc) and find out that it dosen't fit in the hubs or it's too long/short.

Why are you dropping the tranny if all you are doing is replacing axles?

Well I'm changing the Zc tranny to a Dx 5-speed for less strain on the motor on the hwy. I can only get up to 120mph @ 7000. I know my acceleration will suck but I got a turbo Zc motor.

They are the right length, but MAY not work.
Check the diameter of the outer CV joint and compare it to your stock axle.

I tired using 92~95's and they fit, but the outer CV joint would completely bind on the inside of the knuckle. Totally frozen with no spinning action after the axle nut went on.

NO DO NOT DO THIS!!!! GET THE RIGHT YEAR AXLES OR ELSE **** WILL **** UP! i got some 95 axles for free and i thought they were the same for my 91 si....well 2 transmissions later i figured out that all d series axles are different in length..if you use the older axles its gonna **** up the differential in your tranny and your tranny will go out so dont do it!

they are the same spline count...but different lengths and size is extremely important.....if you have a longer axle its gonna be hitting your diff really hard trust me if your car is lowered you will hear it,on top of that if it is too short they suck as well....allways buy the right parts for your car never go cheap like i did...i had to do 2 tranny swaps this summer and it sucked...but i learned...also make sure your get the source of your info from someone thats been into hondas for awhile...dont listen to newbies...no offense
