the H23 beast is almost done!
some of you may know that i hydrolocked a couple months ago.
well hopefully after months of waiting and navigating this watery-block syndrome its finally coming together. Anthony sent me a few a pics of the block and pistons so i thought i'd share.
it went from this

to this:
je 9:1 pistons and crower billet I beam rods

darton sleeves

gude head package- 5ang./pnp/port matched IM/ decked .050 over due to warpage
. because of this i had to get the pistons milled .030 just to be safe

the full setup will be the above plus:
3" exhaust by anthony
apexi n1 muff.
ge cam gears
str fuel rail
550cc venom injectors
walbro 255 fuel pump
hondata s200b
MSD 6al
gm 3bar map
t3/t04e turbo- running arounds 17lbs
revahard kit
aeromotive fpr
greddy turbo timer
turboxs mbc (temporary)
autometer:
egt
boost
oil pressure
fuel pressure
new radiator
ground control coil overs
kyb agx's
probably more i cant think of at the moment
= 350hp +/-
all new oem parts: oil pump, water pump, o-rings, gaskets etc......
im sure when its all done anthony will post up about it too. dam i cant wait to drive this thing!

You have headwork, a built motor, and plans for a sweet setup and you're going to run 550cc injectors
Get some 780's (or bigger) so when you're sick of a measly 350 whp you can start making some power that warrants the setup you have

Milling .050 is going to take compression from 9.0:1 to about 10.5'ish...
you removed .030 off the pistons????
Its a dished piston to begin with... Are you refering to removing material from the deck of the pistons wich ultimately means weaker ringlands??
Even if that doesnt loose any structual integrity (it will) I dont think thats not going to do a whole lot to reduce the compression in that motor... The chambers are now smaller, the P to V clearance is now less...
The only thing I can see heping now is having the pin ends of the rods rebushed to run an offset pin bore... Move the bin bore away from the center of the pin journal down towards the BE of the rod as much as possible... THis will give you a little better P to V clearance...
Anotherr option you can use in conjusnction with the offset pin bore would be to use a thciker gasket...

i searched for about a month trying to a thicker head gasket with no luck. i called everybody. only thing i found was GE and they were just gonna add middle layers to a stock one for 3-400$
do you know where to get one?

couldn't find a thicker h-gskt for that bish.</TD></TR></TABLE>
thanks. the way i see it is, we took all necessary precautions so the valves wouldnt hit. as long as that doesnt happen i dont think the compression will be that much of an issue as long as there arent any weak links. everything is brand new so only time will tell.
