Default Front rotor removal, help with the screws

So yesterday my front brakes on my '91 CRX HF started to squeek so I went to AutoZone this morning and went to change out the rotors and pads. I got the passenger side all done, no problem. Then I switched over to the driver's side and now I have a problem.

I can't get the screws that hold the rotor into the hub off. I used a big screwdriver and was hitting the end with a hammer while turning, then tried some PB Blaster and the same method. I am scared to strip out the screw and I think that is going to happen next. Any ideas or help? TIA.

-Steve

the proper way is to use an impact screwdriver. its just a screwdriver you smack at the end instead of turning with your hand. rent it from autozone for cheap, other wise goodluck

You can buy them for cheaper than you can rent them. Autozone charges 40 dollars I think. I paid 29.99 at sears for mine.

Buying the Impact Driver kit from Sears is actually a very good investment overall. Just be sure to also buy a suitable hammer (2+ pound sledge works great). You will find a lot of uses for it (and so will your neighbors <G&gt. The screws are not expensive from Honda (40 cents each) and I replace them each time (just my preference).

Honda is the only company I ever saw with rotor screws. No Toyotas I have ever worked on had them.

Yeah, my old hatch didn't have them in. But anyways, was at my fiance's uncles for a loss in the family and her uncle had an impact screwdriver and took it right out. Thanks for the advice, guys and gals.
