I say no......unless you want something to just buy and be done with

differences; cams, manifold and pistons

so if you plan on replacing any of those, just get an S motor IMO

I agree. however the Type R tranny is alot better because it's shorter gears for NA and you get a LSD.

it also comes with a manifold designed to make power in the higher revs.

difference between K20A and the K20A2 (the rsx type s engine)

K20A has 11.5:1 compression pistons, more aggresive cams, bigger intake manifold.

for 5500, i'm guessing you're getting an entire front clip. that also means you'll get a 6spd tranny with tighter gearing, a LSD, the typeR ecu.

I have a wrecked, mint condition 2002 acura rsx type s with a perfect motor and transmission I'm willing to part out. Motor and trans. complete for $3,000. If interested, email me wgalinat@aol.com for pictures and/hear it run.

You may side with the k20a2 because it will cost a decent amount less, but your chocie is your choice. All the k20a parts are interchangeable with the k20a2 so you can always just swap in the type R parts or superior aftermarket parts later.
