92-95 civic swap help
we are gunna swap a engine in my firends 92 civic. I'm wondering because the h22 has the best numbers and alot of tq, but does it decrease handeling alot?? or would a b series be better??? and please explain your answers thanks
This has been covered time and time agian. The actual tranny/longblock is around 25 lbs heavier. The whole swap isnt more than 100 lbs heavier.
Thats the difference between a big friend and a small friend. It is further out front, but having driven cars with both B and H swaps on a stock suspension neither feel that different to me. If your tracking the car, you won't be using a stock suspension anyways, so you can just order slightly stiffer spring rates.

this has been covered numerous times but...
Most people will tell you to do a B series engine because it's simplicity in dropping into your current setup. You will need MINIMAL changes this way. With an H-Series engine, it's going to require some extra work. Many people have done this and had much success with it. Myself, I threw in a b18 because I found this less time consuming, and more direct "bolt-in", if you will. H-series are known to be powerful, but they're heavy sons'a'bitches too. There is light to medium suspension work involved from what I understand, but I've never done it. I believe you need different mounts, where as B series will drop right in.
Reguardless it's all about how difficult you want to make it. I would reccommend the B series.
If you really wanna get trick, throw in the K20a
