Default upgrade from stock 5th gen to typeS?

how much would it cost to do all the upgrades from a stock to a type S? (at least all the parts)

also. i'm thinking of getting some bolt ons? are cat back exhaust/ header/ CAI a waste of money? would i not even get like a 15 hp gain from those boltons? i've been reading lots of threads and i'm a bit unsure.

thanks

way too much.

if you want ATTS, you'll need all the sensors and the specific ECU with the specific immobilizer key to that ECU, because I have heard that SH/Type-S ECUs cannot be bypassed (the car doesn't start if an attempt is made).

bolt ons: search.

SMSP/Hytech are the best choice for headers, Prospeed is a close 3rd.
CAI - Ebay 3" tubing with a good high flowing filter
Exhaust - Custom 2.5" tubing mated to your canister of choice (best deal).

With these and a VAFC, you should be able to get well over your 15whp goal.

thanks for the advise on the bolt ons. i'll do a search and read more about it.

i may be confused my self. but i did not mean the type SH. i dont care much for the atts. i'm talking about the jdm prelude. i think its type S or maybe typeR. or does that one have ATTS as well. i know it has 20 extra hp. how does it add the 20 hp and is it possible to do same mods after market?

thanks

Type S does have ATTS.

It achieves more HP with higher compression 11:1 and a different intake. If you want those two things, then I suggest you get a Euro-R motor. Yes, they are both H22A motors.

technically the S-spec H22A achieve thier power by more aggressive cams peaking power @7200rpm instead of USDM 7000rpm, port and polish , larger throttle body 62mm versus 60mm, 11.1 compression ratio, and a intake that has better sound resonance, larger exhaust. Also thier is an SIR- S spec prelude that has the same motor as the Type S minus the ATTS, but with LSD.

The thing that's gonna hurt is purchasing the Type S exterior roof panel (no sunroof) and interior roof panel to really make your USDM Prelude into a Type S.
