Interesting, I wonder if this means they'll be using an electromagnetic system.

Default no valve springs

Hmmm....I wonder why this technology isnt popular http://members1.chello.nl/~wgj.jansen/gifs/047.gif

This technology was looked at by Ferrari back in 91 but never made it to competition. http://members1.chello.nl/~wgj.jansen/text/Ferrari.html

while watching a race this past season, the announcer mentioned that Ferrari is researching electromagnetic valve train which they where speculating would allow for rpm's of up to 24 - 26000 rpm!!

Strikes me as a lot of friction in that valvetrain design.

If you guys watched the Pike's Peak Hill climb recently, there was a truck (as in BIG RIG) sponsored by a company (I think) called Camless Technologies. I think their's was pnuematic but I don't recall for sure. The announcers commented on how there was almost NO black smoke coming from the exhaust. I think it is going into production soon on a certain line of big rigs, but unfortunately I can't remember off the top of my head. Something else to throw in the mix.
