Let me start off by saying I did many searches...and it gave us alot of ideas to try. but nothing really worked...

btw this is my buddys car...b16a into a CRX HF...HF wiring harness. (if that matters?) when he bought the car it was a stock HF that would not start. would crank all day but not start. never figured the problem but assumed it was main relay.

anyways we just got his swap done. the wiring apears to be correct.

Fuel pump (brand new) primes
IT has fuel---(to the rail, and it floods the cylinders pretty easy)
It has spark---but appears to be weak...and maybe even a little random.

everything appears to be in ok condish inside the dizzy...and the cap is new. only ? would be the rotor looks a little worn.

car starts and runs for a second on starter fluid. doesn't backfire like it would if timimg was off. actually runs half way decent.

also if we put are hand over the open throttle body(tight so no air gets in)...and open fingers a crack...it will almost run...sputters for a second. if we had someway to contro airflow...it might even stay running.

any ideas? sorry for the long post...but I just cant think of anything else.

 

are u sure the fuel is getting to the cylinder.... we had a car that would run on starter fluid we soaked the injecters in injector cleaner and then tried again and it worked..... duno....it seems to me if it runs on starter fluid then it needs fuel.... but it seems if u swapped it should ahve diff injectors in that case maybe bad gas?????? i prolly didnt help but................. sorry

 

u could have watter in your gas. i've seen it happen. condastion bulds up in the gas taink and mixes with the gas. result: bad gas and no runing.
