more than likely its a thing called the brakelight sensor..well..thats probably not the technical term..anyways..its a little blue rubber pointy looking thing..it wears out and falls out from the hole it goes into..follow the brake pedal arm under neath the dash..youll see a little hole where the rubber thing used to be..what it does is it pushes on a trigger type sensor..all you need to do is gerry-rig a nut/bolt into that hole so that it pushes in on the trigger sensor..hope this helps
EDIT: if you cant find a nut/bolt to put in that hole..ive seen or heard of people taping pennies or nickles on there to strike the trigger..post up and lemme know if you fixed it

i take that as a "yes..it worked"??lol..for future reference..theres another similar blue rubber pointy thing for the clutch arm as well that goes to the starter..if you ever have problems starting the car all of a sudden and you see a broken blue rubber thingie on your floorboard..same deal..
