when i bought my car it came with a cf hood that was in ok condition. since i've got it i have waxed it about twice a month.last time i waxed it i notice there was a line going through the middle of the hood were the clearcoat was looking faded. in two weeks it has gotten worse and the same bar pattern appeared on the top of the hood towards the windshield. i searched h-t but couldn't find any post of this happening to anyone else.

exact same thing has happened to mine....the hood needs to be re-clearcoated

 

yep, just get it re-clearcoated....i have a lil spot kinda like that on my spoiler

wax maxes it look new though

i thought it was weird that it happened in just those spots. usually the faded hoods i've seen are faded equally throughout the whole hood. i was thinking that this pattern might be caused by the metal supports under the carbon fiber being heated while driving and somehow damaging the clearcoat. this hood went from looking good to having these spots in like three weeks i would hate to re clear the hood and have the same problem in a few weeks.

yea all you gotta do is scuff and relay some clear down
