Default How much power can the accord autobox cope with?

Hi all,

Im new to this forum, so if I don't give enough info, please bare with me!!!

I have a year 2000 UK Spec Accord Coupe 2litre vtec autobox (Single cam, i think!).

Anyway, my main question is what sort of power increase can this box handle? According to my users manual, the standard output is 144 BHP (or thereabouts), and I know that in most makes of car it is usually quite safe to increase power by up to 20% before worrying about upgrading the transmission, but not sure how it works with autoboxes. Don't want to change to a manual either, aside from the mechanical aspects, it is too much hassle with the insurance companies wanting engineers reports etc.

Also, does anyone know what the engine code is for this car?

Many thanks in advance,

Themac1977.
