Default So, you question MAACO's paint quality?

Recently took a project car to the paint shop for preparation to be up For Sale... it was originally tenitian green (spelling)... sprayed it electron blue.

Before

Before, but after the doors were installed

After

They oversprayed in a few areas, particularly around the hood hinges (hard to mask off). they definitely did a better job of masking the windows and trim pieces. When they sprayed Homer yellow, they did a horrible job of masking.

Downsides:
- They put a nice dent in the passenger door, but, I can't prove it...innocent until guilty i guess. If i was keeping the car, there would have been hell.
- cost me $402.
- took 7 days.

Overall, I highly recommend it for anyone on a budget and needs to have their car sprayed. it looks a 100% better.

i think it would look better if the whole car was one color, instead of keepin the mouldings black. But still looks good

i did no body work.

I didn't even wash it. The picture of Hulk with the black doors is the day before i took it in and it's exactly how i dropped it off.

i didn't remove anything or mask anything. No primer, no sanding.

mind you, if you PREP the car yourself, you will definitely get a great paintjob...since painting cars is largely about how you prep the car.

That's a killer looking Maaco job, and the car looks great in the black/blue scheme.

Yeah, thats looks like an o.k. paint job.
$402 and 7 days seems like a small price to pay.

Looks good. Only if there work was durable and would last. Like I think was mentioned, its all in the prep work and trust me for that amount of money, there isn't much more prep work than taping things off.

Yeah my plan for next summer when I return home from school is to get my car painted at Maaco. Not sure what color but it doesn't matter so much to me the quality so long as the **** doesn't fall off. My car is black now but I'm thinking grey or silver.

why wouldnt you just keep it the same color?? i would kill for a TG si. besides, electron blue is sort of a lame color IMO. it was cool at first but now its the color everyone is getting. cant argue with the quality of the work they did tho... at least from the pics.

I am guessing that is 402$ American... right? I think it looks like a really tight paint job, especially if you didn't have to do a thing to it first.

I just sprayed my '90 Civic DX for 150 $ Canadian worth of paint and other supplies. Needed to remove the rust first, so I fiberglassed/ sanded, then finished off with bondo filler and more sanding. 3 days later, looks pretty good, but I had to do all the work myself... I'll put up some before after later, lol but don't laugh too hard when you see the colour... can't afford to spend that much time doing full body spray.
