Just picked up Mugen Twin Loop Sys. and Mugen 4-1 headers...
I have a stock cat and the Mugen system seems to be rejecting it. Does Mugen make a 2.5' Catalyctic Jack/Test. Can anyone out there with their system tell me what they did or are doing now?
You need a high flow 2.5" cat. Carsound makes one, SMSP (thats his sn) sells it with flanges welded on and the option for a o2 bung or none.
Just get a Carsound, or an SMSP modified Carsound. I have the JDM ITR 4-1 and Mugen twin loop, so it used a slightly shorter cat than my stock one (GSR).
Call up SMSP or even Mike M at IPS.

You will need the shorter JDM cat to bolt to the header. The catback will bolt to the stock cat or the Carsound 2.5.

If I use a JDM ITR cat can I still hook up both o2 sensors or will my engine freak out and signal the CEL?
I know alot of people on here are using JDM aftermarket exhaust. Are most of you guys zip tieing and wrapping your o2 sensor in foil? Does this technique eliminate the CEL or just keep your o2 sensor from being damaged. I hear removing the 2nd o2 can be detrimental to your engine...this true?
wrap it in saran wrap, then foil. My o2 was exposed for a long period of time and went bad within 2 weeks after re-installing it.
I am running a CTR cat back on my EK w/ ITR motor. The primary o2 is in the header and the secondary is in the cat. I kept the US cat so I had to weld a smaller flange onto the CTR catback exhaust to mate to the us cat.

Did you buy the JDM length twinloop or USDM length twinloop? The length of the catalytic will differ between which model you have.
Not sure...I just ordered the system from http://www.jhpusa.com They didn't ask me to specify JDM or USDM length.
I would bet they send a JDM cat to you.
Yes, the CEL will cause you to run rich at first. Over a period of time your ecu could make the car run lean since the secondary o2 won't verify the primary o2 readings and cause it to go into a diagnostic mode and your idle will fluctuate up and down. An ecu reset will cure this but it could happen after a period of time.
You could always pick up a jdm itr ecu though and not worry about it looking for that secondary o2.

Well, if I want to use my Mugen Exhaust, how can I use both 02 sensor so I don't have to fool around with the CEL or ECU? I can't use my cat. It's too small (USDM cat=2.25'). What should I use. Also, there are 2 types of Mugen Exhausts...USDM and JDM?
have a bung welded into the jdm cat. No idea about the jdm/usdm mugen exhausts...you should verify what they will send you and then figure it out from there.
This is really no big deal either way...if you get a jdm cat then have a bung welded in for your secondary o2. done.

im SMSP and get one from him.
To answer your previous question, the CEL for the 2ndary o2 sensor (CEL 67) has no effect on the engine or idling or anything like that. It's just for emissions
