Cat Cams

anyone ever put their cams in their car (honda or otherwise). I'm thinking about getting them as I can get an amazing deal on them. Anyone have any opinions. I'm thinking about running their 613's on my LsVtec with USDM ITR pistons, stock PR3 head, ITR intake, ITR T/B, ITR 4-1. They don't require a valve train upgrade, and it is either these or ITR cams, and right now these are looking cheaper than ITR's. Please, any ideas as I have to make a decision by the end of the afternoon.

Cat Cams are a great line of cams. Cat Cams have been making cams for over 30 years for OEM and private label. In fact, AC Schnitzer and Renntech both relabel cat cams as their own. Cat Cams have a patented way of making more power with less lift. That is why most of their cams don't require an upgraded valvetrain.

Any update on these yet? When I was in the VW scene they had a great reputation.

</TD></TR></TABLE>
not bad there is better but most aftermarket camshaft maker use chill casted cores skunk2, buddyclub, the list could go on. the belive the better material is a billet cam. why does chill cast suck well it depends on who does it but im hearing if not done right the cam could break or the quality of the material or something not sure but yea. i also think the billet cam is lighter but im not sure maybe someone else could come in. dont take wut i said unles someon confirms it.

honestly the pick is a general pick. Which is why there are two cam gears, six sets of springs, five retainers, etc. I say give it a try. Everyone on the internet can say no because they haven't heard of them, but who knows they could be the greatest cam out there. Decide if you want to spend you money on it, if you do then buy them. If you are scared/nervous don't

oem i believe is chill cast core you can tell is not billet because its not blingin like billet. my question is why dont people use billet is it because the cam grinder cant do billet so the only way to make billet is to use a cnc machine that can do billet or wut? maybe rocket or some people that do there own grind can chime in.

Ontario, Canada.
I would also suggest trying Colt Cams (www.coltcams.com). They are located in BC.
I'm running their LS race grind and I love them. Previously, I had their street grind.

Some companies have had problems with billet cams causing premature wear on valvetrain components. I know Comp Cams had this problem.
