coolant in throttle body
i was reading on a honda site earlier on that if you remove the 2 pipes delivering coolant in/out of the throttlebody and join them together the throttle body stays much cooler resulting in, and i quote '' unbelievable gains '' sound all well and good but cant help thinking i smell a rat?
I would not say unbeleivable gains, but you can get some (2hp). However, this comes with price. Your car will idle like **** until it is up to operating temperatures.
The car won't idle like **** unless it is cold, winter temps. I've done the modification on my car, idle is fine. Then again, I don't drive it in the winter. But it take less than 5 minutes to switch, so who cares?
Car won't idle, and no HP gains.
I rigged a valve to control flow of coolant through the TB when I went to the dyno 2 years ago. No gains at all with a cold TB and no coolant flowing through it.
