Default Hytech or Prospeed **ordering asap**

ive heard good things about both. but just curious has anyone seen dyno's from either? the prospeed stamp is only $500... hytech is twice that. for power gains, is it worth paying double? i hear alot of comments, personally they both look really nice, but what about actual gains?

i want to buy one now, but i cant decide on which.

once you get the merge collector and stainless steel, the prospeed is around $900. I believe the hytech already comes with that.. so its about the same.

On a sidenote, no one seems to have dyno'd the hytech yet

HECK NO! Nothing near one another.

Personally I'd go with HyTech, no questions asked. If anything they've shown to be MUCH more durable than the Prospeed models.

has anyone actually had poblems with the prospeed?

and i was only planning on getting the street header for $500, so i would be saving alot.

ive never seen a hytech dyno for the h22, still wanna know what it can do... just looks like dc sports with bigger primaries

i have the prospeed. but if i had the cash and was looking, i would go with HyTech. i have talked to some reputable companies that dyno'd a 21whp gain (on a built engine) over stock header on the first pull. no tuning done for it, just on and bam.

here's some info - https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=963348

but if you really want to compare prospeed and hytech: merge vs merge. IMO it isnt fair to compare the prospeed street to the hytech. but saving that much money sure is tempting

I have a hytech header, with a jdm h22 dynoed at whp 210, and 165 torque whp. Most of my gains were at mid point when my vtec kicks in at 4100 rpm, don't even ask why its set so low. My tuner said the motor kept on making more power with lower rpm, but I don't know. After 990 dollars later I don't know? if its really worth it. But the build and the dynamics of the header, you cannot compare it with any other that I have seen.

I havent had any problems with my prospeed header. I highly recommend you get the stainless steel version as it is an all around stronger material.

The reason i decided against this type of header was because the prospeed header requires you to grind down your crossmember a bit. Also, neither prospeed or hytech have flex pipe sections or accommadations for the stock header brace located right behind the oil pan. This could potentially lead to cracking (i know of a few cases of people on this board experiencing this with the prospeed). However, if you welded in a flex pipe section and welded on a little bracket, you shouldn't have any problems. But, that would put you well past the $1000 mark for the hytech header and depending on which trim you get on the prospeed header between 700-1200. IMO, that was too much for me to fork over for a street header. The greddy does just fine for 300. (Of course that one's backordered with no eta so gl hf gg with finding one new.)

n/a ??? y spend 1k$ on a header unless your serious about making power. And if your serious about making power then save a lil more and buy jrsc or turbo

If you'll notice, everyone who has had cracking problems with a prospeed header, was usually using mild steel. As i had stated before, it is a weaker material, and if you bottom out or something, thats the end of that.

I also had a section of flex pipe welded in directly behind the header just as a safety precaution

I also didnt have to bang/cut/shave my crossmember at all

damn, thanks for all the help. guess i have alot of thinking to do, cause its split... seems everyone only has good things to say about both.

i want to stay n/a, just personal preference. eventually i want to have a mild build. right now i have a crower 2's, will be installing a skunk manifold w/ 70mm tb, so i wanted to complete the flow with a good header... and i already have 2.5" headerback. and when i have the money im getting the head ported and sleeve w/11.5 pistons. then ill probably be done... still my daily.

just wondering, if you guys think spending that much on a header wouldnt be worth it on my setup... whats the diff on the id's between dc and greddy? i know the greddy collector is 2", but i would mod that.

... well ****, guess i have some time to think. just got emailed back from john, about a 2 month wait for a hytech.

I plan on doing some comparisons of "Prospeed" vs Hytech vs SMSP vs CRD...

They will be tested on 3 seperate H22 powered vehicles by a non bias tuner/dyno facility...

I hope to have that done by mid november at the latest (need time to gather headers/cars and finish prototyping/testing the final versions of the CRD header)

I will be inviting each company/company representative or header owner to be present during the testing...

Id like you guys to see what your getting for your $$ when you purchase a header...
