rebuild ?
That sounds a tad bit high, but for that kind of cash, why not get a ZC? If you really don't want to get into the whole engine swap thing, look for a lower mileage Si motor. I mean even if you can't put it in yourself, the cost of a low mileage motor in addition to the labor cost of a mechanic putting it in should not even come close to 1600 dollars. Just my two cents. Good luck in whatever you decide.
You live in SoCal? Man you have lots of places to go for swaps. I'm originally from the L.A. area but when I joined the Air Force I had to relocate to Louisiana. Your best bet is to do a search to see if anyone near you has any recommendations. I've seen ZC's on Ebay go for 550, but I don't think I'd buy a motor from some random person on an online auction site. Just make sure that whatever option you choose, whether it be swap or rebuild, that the shop has a good reputation. I don't think that this can be stressed enough. Saving a few bucks is not worth the headache.

There you go, cheap decent motor, it'll have low miles and great for just beating around...theyre in cali, nto sure how close to you but even with shipping your lookin at 500 if not less, then another 500 for someone to swap it in. Hell, with all the HT guys out there I'm sure you can find one that can knock it out for you in 1 weekend for 500, I would if I was over there.
