compressor engauging and disenguaging
The system is filled and has a pressure of 65 psi which is about right for an outside temp of about 100. The compressor it engauging and the idle drops to about 400rpm and then it disengauges and the idle turns to normal, then it tries again and fails again. Finally it engauges sometimes.
I checked the idle speed and it is right on, 750-800 rpms. It never did this with the old compressor. What could be the problem?

It was doing this after I put in 2 of the cans that have the 2oz of pag oil and 1 oz of cool down and 11oz of r134a by quest. It was only blowing about 27 degrees lower at the vent and I called autozone and they said I should add one more can.
Like the clutch will be engauged and I rev up the engine and the clutch shuts off and the rpms drop and the clutch tries to engauge and the rpms drop and it shuts off again. And kinda does on/off/on/off when the rpms drop and raise.

Theres your first problem, listening to people at autozone. Anyways take it some where and let them refill it for ya.

I took it to pep boys today and they are going to look at it tommorrow. I'm hoping that they arent going to say something else is wrong with it. We have already spent about $500+ on this a/c.
Pep boys called me back and said they can't evac it cause the machine they hooked up to identified it failed and they said they didn't have any containers to recover it in because i guess they reuse the freon.
They told me to goto a a/c shop that specializes in it.
