Is it worth the cost of an Unorthodox crank pulley? Ive heard good and bad about them... Just seems like a lot of money for a stupid pulley.

 

Yea, and more money for the bearings they will fry.

 

If you want to get a pulley get a CIVIC Type R N1 pulley. It is about $140.

No they aren't worth it.....they must be perfectly balanced and most are not. STAY WITH STOCK on the crank pulley.....if you want more power.....remove the ac and the ps.

 

ive removed both the PS and all the AC components on my JDM B18C... i know it saves a lot of weight, but how much power do i gain from it? Thanks!

 

Hey Pac Man...remember me? I ran a 10.25 at IDRC race at Palmdale Sun. Should have beat Venom Civic (ran a hurt 10.95) but was stupid and red lighted. Cost me $200 but I think my time will translate to 9's at sea level. Things are quiet without all the Atomic soap opera. Good to see you posting here!

No they are not worth it. You want the harmonic damper which Unorthodox doesn't have. Thats why AEM only makes the power steering and air conditioning pulley.

 

here is what happens with a LW pulley on a engine that had a stock rubber dampener.......all in only 10,000 miles also!
