adjustable swaybars anyone?
Anyone here using any adjustable rear swaybars? Opinions? The only one that I know of that is EP-specific is the Comptech one but I can't even find that one on sale anymore. I know Hotchkis makes one for the RSX and that may fit on the EP. Anyone try that out yet?
I have the Hotchkis RSX bar with the endlinks on my EP3. Id say on the soft setting, its about equal to the CTR 22mm bar. I've kept it on the hard setting, and l get just enough inner wheel lift.
Hotchkis has a good amount of technical data about thier stuff on thier site. The only thing about this bar that worries me is the stress it might put on the subframe, but I'm looking into a custom reinforcement plate.
The GRM civic used the comptech adjustable bar...they have some pics and info in thier project car section at: http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/02civicsi.html

So no tie bar on the Hotchkis piece? Do you have the sport bar (25mm) or the competition bar (27mm)?
I can't find the comptech adjustable bar for sale anywhere. Did they discontinue it or something? The only thing listed on the comptech website is a non-adj piece.

According to the Hotchkis site, they are currently under development for swaybars for the EP3. Can't imagine that they're any different, LOL.
And why do they sell their swaybars as a set of front & rear. Why not separately?

27mm hollow and some kind of enhanced alloy.
Hotchkis did some research and found that hollow bars have nearly the same torsional strength as solid but they weigh significantly less. The 27mm bar on its highest setting is like a solid 25 in my estimation, but it weighs about the same as a 22mm bar.
Then there's the monster endlinks...solid sperical. This bar would snap my stock endlinks like toothpicks.
I think as long as your car is well-sprung and dampened, the bar and enlinks are a good fit.
