yup..even more if he drove it hard all the time trying to be speed racer..
before I got my LS a decent GSR came abouts but it was on life support..really clean and nice but it was burning oil...

Always have both a compression check and keadown test done before you buy a car that may have been beaten on. If all comes up clear and the motor is healthy then that takes care of that. If it's really a GSR, I'd pursue it.

That price sounds high. I just got a 96 Integra LS that is 100% stock with a bad timing belt and damaged head for $500
Compression Specifications:
B16A 135psi min ~ 184psi max
B18B 135psi min ~ 200psi max
B18C 135psi min ~ 270psi max
* There should be no more than a 28psi difference between the cylinders

If you want to compare: I sold my 1994 GSR with 146,000 miles for $5700. The car was in excellent condition inside and out; it only had recaro seats and h&r springs and the engine was in perfect condition.
i think the your deal is alright. Everything in america is negotiable so I'd try to negotiate. if you don't feel confortable with the engine, do a compression check and find out the truth....
good luck

you got a steal, and it's not a good example of the market value of tegs.

Kelley Blue Book value of a 1996 integra gsr in clean condition private sale is:
$6550
the motegi 17" wheels, maxspeed drop kit,m3 mirrors, and no name strut bars are more rice than nice, and the clutch cannot be verified easily.
If these are mods you would have done to the car anyway, and are your taste, then give him $6800 for the car. It a few bucks over blue book to give him something for his mods that aren't that expensive of mods to begin with except for the clutch.
If these things aren't your taste, then don't offer him anything over blue book, or find another gsr. They are out there.

everyone is saying that the parts themselves would lower the value, but is everyone overlooking WHO installed it instead of WHAT's installed? Another real good thing to check on

the only thing of his installs that could be messed up is the clutch/flywheel......and that would be noticeable.
this is a good thing to know for motor swaps and buildups, but with the car he's looking at, that's not so important.
The parts on that car would bring down the value cause it's rice, and may be indicative of a guy who beats his car............though I believe anyone who says they baby their teg when driving it, and they're under the age of 40 isn't being completely truthful. These cars can be driven hard, and still last a long time, as long as regular maintenance it done, and I believe most integra owners open them up once and a while.
I'm not talking about abusing the car; I'm talking about spirited driving

no dont get it. first off all wen u look for cars u usually want to buy a stock one and not hook up ones. also im guessing the car have been beaten on a lot. 1996 for that price u can easily get a 98+ with about the same or less mileage. thats my reason..
i saw this teg in autotrader, my friend is looking at it also..where you at in ut? as for buying the car, if you really want it, tell the guy those after market parts arent worth **** and talk him down on the price

aftermarket parts don't always decrease the value of the car....it soley depends on the buyer...if the buyer likes those wheels...i'm sure he'd pay more to have them rather than this kid throw on the stockers....If the engine is in good condition, front tires arent burned off, and the car looks good...by all means buy...especially if you were planning on modding it anyway..at least you have a start, and if you want, you can sell the parts off the car from there and make a little cash back
