Default Engine bay strut question

Well I just got my new strut bar as seen in the pictures below, I bought it from a guy who says its from japan, is there any definitive way to tell? I bought it for $20 bucks, even if it isnt jdm, thats a pretty good deal isnt it

Looks like a knock-off ITR brace. Upper strut bars provide minimal handling and chassis strength improvements. If you want serious handling inmprovement, get a 22mm rear lower sway bar and reinforcement kit.

And one more thing, just because someone tells you it "JDM" or from Japan, don't just take their word for it.

well i didnt think it was necessarily the type r, but maybe jdm because of the look, either way its somewhat of an upgrade i would believe, seeing as how its adjustable and lighter...and im lowering my car a few inches here soon (camber kit all the way around) so im thinkin that will improve my handling somewhat, then i'll be getting the lower sway and lca's

That caught me off guard as well... maybe he meant MEGAN or some other knockoff brand.

No, there is actually a brand called Megan Racing. I don't even think they are supposed to be a knock off of Mugen. They just have a similar name. A friend of mine bought an axleback muffler setup from them for his SE-R. Sounded like ****, but the logo and emblem didn't resemble anything that Mugen produces. The fact that Megan makes parts for non-Hondas is what sets them apart from Mugen.

Lowering = Make sure your TOE in-out settings are as close to perfect as the alignment shop can get them. That is what will wear your tires faster.
Also, the only thing that aftermarket LCA's are going to do for you is:
A.) BLING BLANG look
B.) allow you to run slightly wider wheel/tired combos without severe rubbing problems.

In this add it COULD be illegal if the logos are 100% identical, then without Mugen's authorization, that would be against the law to use their logo, assuming it's copywritten and spoken for. If you carefully read most of those auctions though, they will say Mugen "STYLE". And that is what sets them apart.

Oddly enough, not only are they knocking off Mugen's name/parts, their website is a copy of the group called the"935Draggers"

dude, that bar in the pic is on a gsr. and abs isn't close enough to the strut mounting points for any bar that i've seen to get in its way.

*EDIT:

the arrow that covers those abs lines that disappear into the shadows go to the firewall, way out of the way of a strut bar. the other side of the engine bay doesn't have any abs stuff near the strut tower either.
