Removing pins from ECU harness plugs.
Hey guys,
I'm swapping in an H22a into my 92 prelude and have to wire in the VTEC. I've been trying to rob two pins out of the harness plug that came with the p13 ecu but can't figure out for the life of me how to remove these pins. Is there a special tool. I've already seen how you lift up a piece on the harness plug but what next. Or can you buy pins? What I want to know the most is what the easiest way to do this is. Thanks.

You need a special tool. AMP is the manufacturer of the plugs, and they make a very small tool that is shaped like a squre toothpick. It's sharpened to a point on the end that allows you to get under the retaining pin on the plug and pull the pin through the back of the plug. I can measure the one I have if you want. That is, if I can find it.
