I have a zc motor and i can't find what year it is? my cuz has a zc and i know where the year is placed on the block it clearly says "89". however, my zc motor appears blank. how can i tell what year this is?

 

you can usually tell byt the cast marking ont he head..its right around the middle right above the #2#3 runners..look close it should either say 88,89,90,91

mine says 90 on it....

 

Its a funny thing with some of those zc's. Most do have the year stamped on the head in small circles near the exhaust manifold/header, but some do not! The zc i brought in 7 years ago for my crx never had any indication or stamping on it. I've seen the odd one here and there like that.

 

sometimes zc motors that came in the 88 civic didn't have the year number on them
