Default Water Lock?

I always hear that the only problem with cold air intakes is the chance of water lock. My question is, should it be relocated everytime it rains? Just wondering...

lol. dude there was a big thread on this just yesterday. look and you'll find it. the consensus was that unless you drive like a retard (through big puddles, in floods) you'll be fine.

The consensus on the bypass valve is that it has been provne to not work unless the entire filter is immersed (very unlikely).

Install the AEM and FOLLOW their direction and you'll never have a problem.

Most people either remove the innner fender liner or open the fog light area to get more air. This means water has direct access to the filter.

I've had my AEM for 4+ years now without issues. I've hit deep (3-4") water at 30-35 mph. If you hit deeper water or at a faster speed, just give up your keys now! You have need to be behind the wheel!

I hit a deep puddle leaving a BarfDonald's drive-thru and locked my motor once. I got lucky and didn't bend my rods-pulled the plugs and sprayed the hood with the starter. By the time I realized how deep the puddle was it was too late. It really sucked because I had to pull the plugs while I stood in water.
