Default My car broke down, help

ok i was going to work the other day and my car felt like it had a nasty miss. i got about half way to work and the car just shut off. i pulled over and i still have oil and stuff so it's not blown. I try to start it and it starts, runs like **** but starts. i can't rev for some reason. and i looked under the hood and exhaust is coming out of my intake??? I shut the car off immediately, apparently the engine isn't firing right and now it is running backwards. ex: The exhaust is coming out of the intake and it's sucking air in through the exhaust, and the timing belt and accessorys are all running backwards. It will idle like this but won't go anywhere. please tell me whats wrong.

It sounds liek an ignition problem (at first) with the miss and whatnot. but if theres exhaust is comming out the intake, somehting is wrong in the head. the thing isnt totally running backward. that would take some doing.
id check the cam timing, engine timing and make sure the dizzy isnt dying/dead.

Car is back firing, I am gonna assume the firing order is correct. I would look into replacing the plug wires, but also look at the spark plugs, see how those look. You might also want to inspect the cap and rotor to.

well i had a friend spot me on a cap and rotor earlier today, so i'm gonna try and get that on there tonight maybe. we cheched the timing belt and it doesn't look like it jumped time or anything like that. any other ideas??? firing order is correct. i'm thinking it's the distributor/cap/rotor, because it is a zc and they are known for dizzy problems correct?
