mph formula from a bike website apply to cars also?

I found this formula for determing speed from given data on a motorcycle website. Is it the same for cars?

MPH = (Engine RPM * Radius) / (Final Gear Ratio * 168)

If it isnt, can anyone help me out by giving me the formula? thanks

Speed = RPM * gear ratio * tire circumference
