This past weekend I was cruising out to a friends on the backroads when suddenly my RPMs and MPH fell to the floor. Shortly thereafter, not 3 minutes the lights in my car got dim and a few minutes later my stereo died!
I think it's an electrical problem, probably the alternator... but why would my gauge cluster die and then the electrical components?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
And if it IS the alternator, do I HAVE to buy one for a b18 or will one work off of say... a d16?
Thanks again!

Check the line on the alternator, mine came loose a few times when I first got the R. Just stick your hand down and see if the power line is loose or tight. Also check your primary engine ground, gauge cluster goes kapoot when the engine ground is loose.
