help in fixing up my Honda
Hey, I'm new to the forums and also to the civic world. I currently own a 04 Fiji Blue Pearl Civic.. I have no idea what to do to it. It's the basic model. The only thing I've added is a tint. I don't want anything too extreme, but something to make it distinct. Since I'm new I only get 5 posts or something, so if you have any ideas just post on here or email me! Thanks..

Just strapping a muffler on it is pointless, save your money.
If you want something that makes a difference i say a good suspension setup is the second best modification to better tires
good thing you came here first, other forums would probably tell you to strap all sorts of crap to it
i say get used to the car first
get used to driving it and so forth, i would pay it off first (if you already have, more power to you) and just focus on keeping up with maintenance.

All Civics are 4s.
It's a DX correct? Go with a suspension and an exhaust at first.
After that, save up 5 grand and swap in a K20A (RSX-R engine and tranny)

Its all about your taste. Don't ya know, make burnt rice. First thing a Civic needs is good rims. Silver looks great on blue. I reccomend against chrome.

This is my car with my rims, lemme know if that style is of any interest to you.
Mike
One more thing: PLEASE don't get one of those wide end mufflers that makes the car have that empty coffee can fart sound. Those are just bad.

Ya can't just go out and start modding a car, it doesn't go like that despite what most say. I'd say, if you're gonna drop serious cash in your car, do it for yourself. FInd out what you want improved with the car. Not everyone mods stuff. See, you got a new car, so its fine. My car has 94k miles, so when something needs replacing, I upgrade. Saves me from replacing, then upgrading.
Intake is your air intake. When you get a short ram intake or cold air, it gives a little more power, and makes the engine louder, nicely louder.
Exhaust pipes give more power if you get better ones, also making the car louder, nicely louder.
Just don't get a fart can muffler. They sound awful. I'd get some aftermarker shocks/struts. Make it corner better.

I wouldn't even get a muffler, most look bad. If you did, get a basic pipe, but a little wider, maybe 2 inches. I don't have a performance muffler, just a chrome sleeve, and think it looks a lot better than stock.
basically the whole point of adding I/H/E is to help your car breath better. I say don't mod it until you really want to. It'll save you money and when you do purchase it you'll know more information to make a smarter decision when buying items and installing them. They're pretty easy to instal if you're a logical person.
I agree with redline. Shocks are probably one of the best first mods you can do to your car. I say the best Modification you can do to your car are tires. They make a world of a difference
my first mod was a greddy evo...i regret it now. It was loud, attracted the cops, and i didn't really feel any performance out of it. Now it's back to stock and i love it, quiet on the highways, cops don't pull me over anymore, and it's still as quick as it was before
If i could do it all over again, i'd just drive it stock (replacing the tires) then probably getting a good coilover system with better shocks further down the road.
