91 Prelude 2.1 si stock bogging down; need advice...
I came across this site while researchign this problem and you guys sound pretty knowledgeable. Did a search to no avail. I am very technically capable, but am new to the world of Honda's.
My g/f has a 91 Prelude si (2.1) stock. Recently it has started bogging down. Won't do it consistently, but usually only when starting out (from signal light etc). Can run great and rip up through the RPMs. The, suddenly, bam! Won't accel anymore. Baby the throttle and it will eventual;ly take off again like someone flipped a switch.
I have changed plugs, wires, distributor (oil found in the distributor - that was nice), cap, rotor, fuel filter. Has had a recent oil change. Fuel injector cleaner has been run through. Computer is not sending any codes and SES light is not coming on. Local garage threw their hands in the air and said they couldn't diagnose it until it (a) does it more consistenly or (b) it just quits. Nice.
I feel as though it has to be a sensor going bad somewhere. Something that isn't yet completely out, but getting that way. Engine has 160k on it. Head was rebuilt 2 years ago (dang interference engine timing belt break crap - ugh).
Anyone have any ideas? Any recommendations on what to do or where to start? Fuel pump? O2 sensor? Other sensor? Any thoughts at all would be great.
I will sit back and listen now.

I am having the same problem with my JDM H22A. It will only do it in various times. Could take 5 mins, an hour, or a couple of days...It feels like it is running on 2 cylinders when accelerating, then you turn the car off, let it sit, and it's back to normal...I thought is was the EGR valve because my lift solenoid is shot, so I had a block-off plate made, nope....So it's not only you Sparky, if that makes you feel better
But the problem is I've been to 3 different boards and noone knows what it is....I'm thinking its either the O2 sensor or the TPS prematuraly crappin out....
