Default Wheel clearance...not enough?

I have a 98 prelude base model. I just bought some motegi MR7's and BFGoodrich Gforce TA KDW's. The rims are 17x7. I might be having some rubbing issues with the inner fender wells. When i go over a bump and the car sits down a little i can hear it. The tires show no signs of wear and neither do the fender wells. My car isnt lowered, should my rims fit alright?

yes the rims should fit without rubbing. You may have worn shocks, if you are rubbing when you hit a bump that is usually a good indication that your shocks need replaced.

Go out to your car, put some weight over the tires ( i.e. push them down ) and see how they rebound. The car shouldn't bounce, it should come back with a slight bbit of settling.

It doesnt bounce. I heard something about a "bushing" in the rear shocks that sometimes make a clunking noise, think that could be it?
