rotors
What's the diff. between ceramic rotors and regular rotors?
Just wondering as I noticed a few "jdm" marketed rotors are advertised as ceramic, EG. spoon rotors. Any advantage to these as opposed to OEM type rotors like brembos?
Thanks

As far as performance.....they are lighter. On the Porsche GT2, their Ceramic Composite Brake discs are 50% lighter than cast-iron, 25% higher frictional coeeficeint, less suscetpible to fade and 100% anti-corrosive.
As far as expense, the cost didn't seem entirely unresonable to me if their performance could merit it.
I just never really heard anybody mention any experience with them before, so I'm not sure if these are track or race type items that aren't suitable for street use, also wondering about durability esp. with good brake pads that might torture regular rotors a bit more...
I know that a typical race or autocross setup may not be suitable for an everyday driver...
Just want to check my facts in case I ever get enough money to start doing more brake upgrades...
