"Storms in the Pacific Ocean are poised to drop out of the Gulf of Alaska, along the B.C. coast, and move into Western Washington Saturday and Sunday."
That's it.... I'm cursed.
So far this year I'm "0'fer" for dry race weekends. For a while I thought it might be some open wheeler guy in Conference that had the curse, but this weekend I'll be running with the SCCA and it's still gonna rain.
The shitty thing is that it's been beautiful in the 80's for the last several weeks in a row, and it desides to rain on the weekend. Of course, next Monday and the following week look great.
If it rains in Portland the next weekend, it will cement my curse.

I dunno, I thought that it rained like 300 days a year in your neck of the woods? I'm thinking it ain't as much being cursed as being wrongly located. You could always move to Arizona...

I don't think life hates me, I just think life hates me racing.
Moving to Arizona has been discussed in the Johng household on more than one occation.
And... it's not that I completely dislike racing in the rain (although I'd rather not), it's just a pain in the *** trying to keep all your **** dry.

Nah, you are not cursed because of only getting rain races - rain races are AWESOME!!! Even hitting something is happening a wee bit slower. Man I love the rain ... I have been known to do a rain chant before (but alas it never works
).
Plus, PIR looks like it would be made much more funnerer (where's MaxQ to correct my grammmmaaaaar and spellin'?) in the rain.

That gets my vote...I need a golf partner.
In the meantime, feel to send me your "dry tires" for, uh, storage.

Not a chance
. Looks like your steamroller slicks won't do you much good this weekend. You might even have to learn how to drive all over again on "regular" tires. ~gasp~
Travis,
See you in November

Don't worry about PIR, John.
I'll ask Yochim to bring his Dirt Stockers as insurance. That alone will ensure a dry weekend. His curse is stronger than your wee hex.
Have you tried leaving your canopy at home? Maybe that will break it...

I've been feeling the same way lately...
Last year all of our autocrosses in Eugene were suprisingly dry, this year we've had afternoon rain showers at every event.
Travis, a good friend of mine is moving to Phoenix and wants me to move with him. I'll have to look you up for a game if I go down there.

You're pissing me off, John.
We had a freakin' hurricane last weekend and the entire east coast got soaked - except for Kershaw, SC and the little piece of racetrack that I was on.
I packed in the rain. I drove the car to the track in pouring rain. I sat in traffic after people crashed on 85 in the rain but, once I got to the track, I did everything but cut a calf hoping to get it to rain.
In hindsight, my new, blue EZUp probably angered the weather gods and made them doubt that I'm a true believer.
Kirk
(who hopes that it rains for 13 hours in mid/late-October in Milton, NC and may have Catch pick up a calf on his way from GA)

I'll put the car on the trailer with the rains on it... therefore.... it will not rain and I will have to scramble to change tires and brake pads.
Inevitable *shrug*
Nash - who dislikes having his chit all wet due to the rain - it makes me grumpy

UPDATE:
Nuff said..... (warning for strong language)
Video..... 3 megs
It starts raining on pre-grid and I'm on dries.
Apparently, my new name at the track is Zeus, so I looked him up...
Zeus:
"Thousands of years ago many people believed in a god named Zeus. He was considered to be the god of the sky and weather and his image appeared on most Greek coins"
"Zeus was the supreme god and ruler of Olympus. He was known by many titles: Lord of the Sky, the Cloud- gatherer, the Rain-god and Zeus the Thunderer, all of which show which force of nature was considered to be the most important in Ancient World - rain"
Thanks
But now, with this new found power, I hope to control the skies this weekend over Portland and command the skies to remain dry.
This is the plan. Stay tuned..............

You gotz a big vocabulary there big boy....... This weekend was kinda a bummer...good to be back on track even through all the crap.
God.... naaaa I don't think so....
Hexxed or cursed is more like it. I think someone just has it out for you and we all get to suffer for it
Another possibility is that someone is trying to keep your lawn green John.
You know green race cars are bad luck right?!?
You know it is wet when..... In my group of 5, there are 2 Z06's, a ZR1 driven by a great driver, a built RX7 Turbo and me.... who posts the fastest time... me. Yup it was wet.
Nash - who thinks John needs load his car with rains mounted from now on.... just to save time and potentially break the spell.

Nope. Not true at all.... but I read somewhere that loading your racecar backwards on the trailer is.
