Default what scca class am i?

I have a 91 civic hb std. with a d15 and a 4-speed.

I looked in the solo2 rule book and i think i am in H-stock and am considered "Civic (NOC)," NotOtherwiseClassified. However, this would place me in the same class as the civic si with the d16 and a 5 speed! thats fucked up!

So, will a d16 swap and/or a 5speed keep me legal? And, what size rim and tire am i supposed to run?

Yep, H-Stock.

is it unfair? well thats for another thread.. but they just dont have another class for cars. Regionally, if you drive it well, i would venture to say you can be competitive.

You could swap to the regular manual tranny for that car as long as EVERYTHING else that would have come on it with the tranny is there. Can you put the Si tranny in it? No.

My suggestion. Runthis car as much as you can as is, put $ into seat time. (not my seat time, but more autocrosses, see sig for details ) Anyway once you are doing well, getting close to people in your class, go shopping for an Si, or a CRX Si for G-Stock, or something "cheap" for another class old Miata or MR2 for E-Stock.. etc. Then work on making that one faster.

Tires, look on the door at the size.. probably something like 175/70/13 or some such. Dont worry about the 175/70 part, but just the diameter. Get the widest tire you can squeeze on it.

Also, do a search through here, you should see lots of good info we have all hashed out before.

thanks.

im gonna head out this weekend and get some of that seat time. Maybe after a while ill go SM with a b16 or something. the only thing is i dont really like SM because its just not as fair. When i win i dont want anyone to be able to say that it was my car and not me.... i hate that. Thats why in a class like HS or CS (or just about any stock class i guess) when you win, YOU win, not the car. This is really important to me. Lots of people say,"Well, your just there to have fun anyway... ." Well, ive never had more fun losing than winning.

Sounds like you have the right attitude. Keep the car stock and on street tires for at least a season. You'll be faster after that season than anyone who fooled with the car. Have fun!
