Default Distributor question

I bought a 98 gsr distributor to put on my 90 ls b18a1. The dist slides in nice but only the top bolt lines up. I need this dist cause its obd1 and I want to use my existing wiring harness. So my question is : is one bolt enough?

or maybe this dist is obd2, but regardless it has the same plugs as my car so I'm assuming it'll work just not sure if one bolt is enough to hold it in place

one leg is good enough... just torque it right. make sure the timming is correct.. chop the leg off.

well i was thinking of a gsr with ls dizzy.. because the solenoid would be in the way.. but if it lines up it will hold... check to make sure there is no play though..

So you have a non-obd motor into your obd1 car.. you should be getting a 94 LS dizzy.. the GSR dizzy has a different bolt pattern than the LS. Which ecu are you running..

btw.. 90 LS B18A is non-obd(OBD-0)

I'll be running a chipped p28 and I know that motor is obd0 but is there any thing special i'll have to change to make it work or can i use my existing wiring harness. Also this guy told me as long as i can get one bolt in and the dizzy is stable then it should be ok

TI might run but why? I mean this isnt like leaving 1 bolt off the fender. this is timing and firing sequence. IMHO I would think having all 3 line up be good. I am selling y P72 Dizzy because I want all of them lined up. Remember its timing and main motor function not a small bolt here or there.

that's true.. you want to use all the bolts for the dizzy.. because it's got rotating interanals, and if that one bolt comes loose and the dizzy starts shifting you're in deep ****... but I know for sure you'll need an LS dizzy if you are running a B18A motor.. the only time you'd run a GSR dizzy if you're going VTEC.. and the p28 will be useless for you cause you'll be getting CELs. I'd recommend using a P74(94 LS) ecu.. you can always get that chipped (Uberdata)..

Thanx guys I do know a good shop in town to get a chipped p74 and I also know someone familiar with uberdata. My budget is getting a little tight. I bought that dizzy for about 50 bucks cause I didn't have 200 to spend on the right one. But if you really think that I need more than one bolt, even if I tighten the sh$t out of it then maybe I'll take your advise.

Yeah you may be right that would make sense so maybe its not a 98 cause it has the 2 gray plugs like my obd1 civ has

ya.. 96-99 integras are obd2a. like i said, just get an obd1 ls dizzy you'll be fine.. and you'll be fine with the uberdata chipped p74. good luck.
