Default Allow me to introduce myself

What's up everyone I'm Josh. I live in Wa and just wanted to say that i've been reading HT for over a year and a half now just studing up and gaining knowledge. You guys really know your stuff. I got a question....I"m getting a DC2 in a week and a half!!!! and once it gets overhauled and I make sure everything is cool, my first mod I want to be a new seat cause I'm 6'2 and I wanna make sure that I have pleanty of leg room. Would you suggest this be a good mod to do first?TIA Oh, I have another question too... It's gonna be an LS(can't afford GSR right now) So, should I go: LS turbo, or just save up and get a GSR and then add snail to that later? (I wanna be like Mike, but Cameron is right)Thanks again.

just an fyi....

DC2 = GSR or ITR
DC4 = LS/SE/RS/GS

I only nit pick because its contradictary when you say you're getting a DC2 because you can't afford a GSR.

I'm 6'2 and I have plenty of leg room in my 94 gs-r. One of my best friends is 6'5 and he can fit into it without a problem. Head room is another story though. My 89 hatch, well thats a different story. Good head room and no leg room.

Thanks for the correction. Yeah, I want some racing seats because they seem to sit lower than the OEM ones. And my boi Johnny has LS-VTEC and his shizzle is quit. Might wanna keep that in mind too. Thanks.

Ya, you probably shouldn't buy a seat unless it's for appearance or function (such as better lateral support). You're going to be fine in either a 2dr or 4dr...I'm 6'1 and I've had both. Save the money you would spend on a seat and put it towards a turbo kit or suspension work (springs, struts, sway bars, etc.). Welcome and good luck

I really need to know how you fit someone 6'8 and 6'10 in the back of a 2dr. I have had me at 6'2, my friend behind me at 6'2. And passanger side 6'7 in the back and 6'5 in the front. That straight up sucked.

Welcome. Damn, you are tall. I'm about 5"9 or 5"10. Us asians usually don't get that tall(exception Yao Ming). Well good luck with your car.

LS/VTEC is the way to go! At least for me it is. I almost got my head so I'll keep you guys posted.

welcome br0, i just started a new account aswell, anyhow i think u should stick w/ the stock seats for now and either lsvtec or turbo, dont sell the car you are just getting! ive done that to many times, by the time i get the car i really want all the time and money could have been put in the 1st one and it could of been incredible, now if u like hearing the vtec scream away (as i do) then obvious choice is ls/vtec but do it right (so its reliable) or u can have a pretty fast ls turbo for not alot of hassle plus turbos are fun (ie. blow off valves). goodluck either way!

I've been looking for a really decent car for a while and in WA it's hard. I could go GSR(parents pay insurance so doesn't matter about that one I just like the tq along with HP. But yeah, I still got a week and a half so I'll have to do some hardcore searching to really find one I want cause I do wanna do it right the first time. I've been hooking up my girlfriend with some ideas with her car too (she's got 2002 DC5) Hope that code is right Type S. Yeah, I'll keep you guys posted. So if you have any DC2 or 4 PM me (Come on Cameron, Johnny, where you at here?) Thanks

Hehe... that is so true... everyone says they got a DC2 when they really have a LS RS GS. it only says on your VIN number, JH4DC2 or JH4DC4.

Anyway, for the sake of simplicity everyone just refers to a 3rd gen as a DC2 like the way people refer to their Civic Hatches as EG6, when nowhere on the car is it stated as a EG6 (They're made in Canada for god's sake) the vin begins with a 2 and got no B16 SIR motor.

One more thing... even though your vin says DC2, 93-94 3rd gens in japan 4 circle headlights were called DC actually, DC2 was for 95+ 3rd Gens JDM front which we never got. and the 98+ frontend we got here in US and Euro never came out in Japan.

Just wanted to put that out while you were on the subject of nit-picking

Correct me if i'm wrong, but I always thought that DC2 was the code for all 94-01 integra COUPES, even the type-R is a DC2

no, look for yourself, if you have an LS, GS, SE, the vin is JH4 DC4, only the GSR type r will say JH4 DC2...(Japan Made)

BTW, the S2000 is JHM AP1, just to prove my theory about the chassis codes.

And the RSX is JHM DC5. (Also Japan Made)

As for the US made Accords and Civics they don't use this type of scheme.
Also...

1 at the begining means it was made in the USA, most likely Marysville Ohio.
2 means Canada
3 I am not sure, but last I checked it was Lincoln Alabama. (04,05 odysseys made here)
Not sure what the English Made Civic SI was.

OH, and the 4dr integra is JH4DB8 for GSR, JH4DB9 for LS, GS, SE, you get the picture.
