Default F20C swap for Del Sol?

Just curious if anyone has put an F20C into a Del Sol? Does it have a 6spd tranny and are there motor mounts to put it in a del sol?

I'm going to have to do an engine swap sooner than I planned, just wondering what's available.

Thanks!

yup.. they increased the displacement and lowered the redline , which kinda sucks. but they did it for a reason.

I've thought about this too. Not in a del sol but in my dx. The F20c actually isn't that expensive(around the same price as ITR motor). When you think about it though, since the s2000 is a rwd car it would be very difficult to put the engine in a fwd car. Anything can be done though if you have the rescources, know how, or money. I've even seen someone put a skyline engine and drivetrain into a del sol.

so are you going to convert the car to rear wheel drive....your going to spend atleast $15,000 on that alone

or are you going to convert the s2k tranny to front wheel drive? there is one company thats done (how reliable it is - i don't know)....your going to spend atleast $15,000 on that alone too

you'll need custom EVERYTHING either way - mounts, axles, transmisssion bell housing (if converting to fwd) wiring etc...you'd be better off swaping in a k20a

That would be a sweet swap dude, I'd be kick *** to get squirley in a del sol, not to mention the look on some ones face when they see you lite up the rear tires. I'd talk to some one who builds circle track or drag car frames and set the del sol body on that, something like a vw frame or vega to save on the cost of the rwd conversion. You'll lose out on handeling but have one sweet drag car, put some 14" wide tires in the back. I'd love to see an import jump coke cans with the front tires.
