Rust Prevention
My CRX has a little rust on the rear quarter pannel, is there anything I can do to prevent further rust in this area? I mean I could always paint it but I think that would just cover it up.
Have it repaired then start washing your car and waxing it often. I try to wax my car every week.
You don't need to wax your car every week. Usually around once a month is plenty! If you're using a quality wax, once a month man. AT times I've gone 2 or so months with a high grade wax and it worked GREAT. Wax just protects the paint from impurities. So long as you don't have unpainted metal exposed/ unsealed you won't have rust. Oh yeah, look out for that rail dust, if so just clay bar it

to prevent rust from becoming worst... you got to grind that rust out until you get bare metal and then primer it then paint it...
by just painting it wont help prevent rust... rust will eventually spread more... its like cancer... unless you cut the cancer out it will continue to spread...

what about the rust converters/killers/fluids/paints. will they help? I have a rust-free CRX but I want to prevent any rust build-up.
BTW: what are the most vulnerable spots and what to do to protect them? Any gurus on the subject ...?

Call up Honda and ask them about it, they have this new little device they install on new cars. Basically its a little box that goes under the hood and it creates some kind of charge that is suppose to prevent rust. Its not suppose to be a lot either.
there are lots of rust "hot spots" on crx's . rear quarters. rear support. rockers. door jambs. under spare tire(leaky taillight gaskets). sunroof. under the hatch lid.
