Default sorry boys, might jump ship, but to a good place

Hello all.

Currently driving a 01 ITR, yellow. car is sweet as hell, perfect condition. thinking of trading it in for a S2000. now, yesterday we picked up an accord for my mom and the dealer saw my interest in a yellow s2000 so he offered me 28995 for a 01 s2ooo with 0 miles on it.
i didnt have the itr with me but he told me to bring it down next week.
is there anywhere i can find a great deal on a new s2000 with the quiter gearing and glass rear window w/defroster. last time i came to the boards i found incredible savings on a brand new ITR. im in NY, and willing to go four hours away for great deal.

Lets see what you guys think, worthy desicion? Help on good deals? Trade in
Ive also posted this on another forum so not to eliminate anyone that could possibly help

Some info on my car if anyone is interested in offering...

I was in your same situation this summer w/ my 00 PYITR 15k miles at the time, perfect condition. I was thinking about trading it for an S2000. I went to the dealer and blah blah blah. Anyways to make a long story short, I test drove it (and really wasn' t that impressed with the performance compared to my R), they came back to me and offered me 12k for my car and 31 for the S2K ...... LOL the funny part about the whole thing was that they were calling Acura asking what "Type R" meant. I kept explaining it to them and they kept saying, "The book says GSR." Idiot carsales people. Finally their last great offer for a trade in on my car was 15.5k. In other words, don't trade in your car, sell it if you go to the darkside...

P.S. Go drive a couple before you do anything rash...... Don't know what you got till it's gone......

For that kind of money you could consider the Subaru Impreza WRX as well. Just a suggestion.

Btw, personally, I would NEVER EVER sell/trade a car to the dealership. You'll get more money selling you car privately.

You can probably sell your ITR for around $22K or so on the private market.

If you trade it in, you will save on sales tax. So even if they only give you $21K for it, you would be paying sales tax on the $8K difference instead of on the entire $29K purchase. That means if your sales tax is 8 percent, you'd save $1,680 in sales tax if they gave you $1K less than a private party would, so you'd still be $680 ahead on the deal.

Just something to consider.

That's true for a lot of states, but not Cali. I know that's irrelevat, but I just was thinking about the DMV, and how they charge you sales tax on the complete value of the car if you bring it into California with in two months of buying it. St00pid DMV.
